CELL FONE NEWS began as a concept for a serialized novel, one intended for cell phone aficianados. Think of it as an immersion that you can buy into for a dime at a time; something you can consume with your cafe coffee. Structurally, it's a cascade of tidbits. Characters subtle and sinister emerge as text messages fly by. The literary conceit is that in a world overloaded with information of varying quality, what people need are micro-reviews which are in themselves useful news. These need be concise enough to suit mobile devices while integrated sufficiently with now to appear fresh. Movies Worth Watching More Than Once (Solo Zone Publishing 2005) came to be as a consequence of this kind of thinking. Of course, there are myriad other threads which thoughtful people might ponder....
